Does My iPhone Have MDM?

If you are not sure whether your iPhone has MDM, there are several ways to check it. If an iPhone is not activated and you can’t skip the screen prompting you to enter Login and Password, this means your device has MDM lock.
- Your iPhone can also display a message like one of the following: “*Company Name* will automatically configure your iPhone”,
- “Please enter your credentials to authenticate your device”,
- “This is a corporate device. If you are not an authorized employee or contractor, please contact and provide the serial number of your device”,
- “Remote management enables the administrator of *Company name* to set up email and network accounts, install and configure apps and manage this iPhone’s settings” and so on.
These messages may look different but they let you know that the iPhone you are holding in your hands does have MDM and is supervised.
If the iPhone is activated and turned on, you can check whether it has MDM in its Settings menu.
Go to Setting, and if your iPhone has MDM, you’ll see a supervision message at the top of the main Settings page saying that “This iPhone is supervised and managed by *Company Name*”.
You can also find the MDM Profile and its details in the General tab. If you don’t see a Profile there, this means your iPhone has no MDM.
Some companies also use a feature allowing to display a custom ownership message on the lock screen of devices enrolled in the MDM program using the Shared Device Configuration profile payload. But if you are going to buy a used iPhone online and have no physical access to it to check whether it has MDM or not, there is an absolutely reliable way to check it.
